Guest Speaker: Scott Hanson – Pioneer Appliance Repair. Scott is a Marine Veteran! He moved his family to Tahoe in 1992. He was here for six months and met a past LTBRN member, John the Plummer and was invited to our group. Dan Spano was our group president back then. Dan informed us that Sears never made appliances, and now Kenmore is comprised of mostly LG appliances made in China. He sees many problems with that product. Scott takes a green approach with his business by helping people fix what they have, because it most likely is better than what you can buy right now if you evaluate it! With the new water efficiency and power regulations it can put a strain on newer appliances and they break easier and the parts are much more expensive. An example is a 3 door refrigerator style. The freezer drawer slides are not warranted and cost approximately $300 for the parts. Water dispensers filters for refrigerator doors need to be replaced every 6 months and cost approximately $50 each! You can go to Searsparts.com and see the price of parts. Scott also has the Appliance Re-cycler and Gary runs it if you are looking for good used appliances. Scott offers 20% off of in home appliance repair in our directory/coupon book. Check out his website at http://www.pioneerappliancerepair.com or you can call him to make an appointment at 530-544-3090.
